Lichtblick
2018
A study in colour, contrast, and the geometry of light. Three gemstones rest on a sculptural, monochrome surface that feels almost carved from shadow. Against this quiet, mineral backdrop, their colours ignite the frame — a vivid orange, an electric blue, and a deep royal violet, each cut with precision to reveal an inner architecture of facets and reflections. The setting is deliberately restrained. The matte, stone-like form beneath them absorbs light, allowing the gems to radiate with heightened intensity. Every edge, every plane within the stones catches illumination differently, turning colour into movement and structure into brilliance. Here, the gemstones are presented in their purest state — not yet set, not yet framed by metal — celebrated for their natural beauty and the mastery of the cut that unlocks it. The composition becomes a quiet meditation on material, where rarity and craftsmanship meet in a balance of colour and form. A portrait of gemstones as objects of art in their own right, defined by clarity, proportion, and the silent drama of light.
